Ryan - the early years

From his first mini moto experience - riding round a local car park to third in a National Championship, the last two years have been a roller coaster ride for this young racer.

In 2007 he entered his first race, in the Phoenix Academy cup, unfortunately as his tyres weren't standard he could not be awarded points for this meeting, even though he won all 3 races. However with standard tyres fitted for the next meeting (which involved a frantic search round all mini moto suppliers and a last minute bidding war on ebay!) he was able to race for points and prizes. Again he won all 3 of his races.

Ryan continued to do consistently well throughout the remaining season. In a fitting finale he won all 3 of his races at the last meeting of the season. This meant that he was just 1 point away from 3rd place in the championship. No mean achievement considering he missed the first 3 meetings of the championship, got no points for his first win or for winning in the rain before a meeting was finally abandoned to torrential rain.

During the winter of 2007 he honed his rainy weather skills to come 3rd overall in the English National Winter Series
